What is the Wessex Global Health Network?

The Wessex Global Health Network brings together people and organisations across the region, fostering collaboration to address transnational health challenges. By working together we can strengthen connections, align our efforts and unlock new opportunities for research and innovation.

Why get involved?

  • Collaborate on a publishable, high-impact project
  • Shape research that links local practice to global health needs
  • Help design and interpret an international survey
  • Co-develop next steps, from digital tools to community outreach
  • Open to all - whether you’re established in research or simply passionate about global health

The first collaborative project

Led by Prof Shane Norris (University of Southampton), our first project is a rapid panel survey in the UK, India and South Africa, designed to generate high-quality formative evidence on the everyday realities of health access and health-seeking behaviour across diverse health systems and social contexts. We’ll explore:

  • Health literacy
  • Mental health screening
  • Chronic conditions
  • Trust in health services
  • Health priorities and recommendations

Your input will help ensure the research is clinically meaningful and leads to real-world change.
